Meredith Young is a musical veteran who has made a definite mark on the Madison music scene. Since the early 1980's he has brought his incredibly strong and steady backbeat to a number of Madison's favorite bands including Kevin Fayte and Rocket 8, The Threshers, Chris Plata and Extra Hot, and Denny Dean. Yet his innovative and inventive style of free-form drumming also gave Appliances SFB a uniquely wild yet tight sound and feel. His ability to adapt to many diverse genres of music has made him a highly sought-after session and fill-in drummer, and his work has been heard live and on recordings for a wide variety of bands including Honor Among Thieves, Reptile Palace Orchestra, Couch Flambeau, The Rousers, and many other outfits ranging from rock to country to gospel.

Currently laying down the beat for Subliminal Overtones, Young continues to impress listeners with his unwavering timing, forceful delivery, and tasty embellishments. His wide-ranging interest in all musical styles has developed into a melting pot of influences that he expertly melds into a sound and style like no other.
